Adoration Overture

“Adoration Overture” is an spirited reimagining of the carol "Bring a Torch, Jeannette Isabella" combined with the hymn "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing." A brisk tempo, jaunty 7/8 meter, and fanfare-like brass passages make this work an ideal concert opener.

A lively marcato style should be maintained throughout, except during the contrasting 6/4 section, which should feature a more legato, sonorous feel. While optional, the piccolo part adds sparkle and the tubular bells offer a dramatic touch. Directors should ensure that the tempo remains consistent throughout the meter changes.
