Collection: Andrew Sharrock
Andrew Sharrock is an Alexandria, VA-based educator, composer, and trumpeter. Originally from Central Islip, Long Island, NY, he serves as Director of Bands at Glasgow Middle School, where the program has grown to more than 300 students under his leadership. Glasgow bands consistently earn Superior ratings at district assessments, with more than 30 students qualifying for district band annually. The program has performed at the 2024 VMEA Conference, the 2024, 2025, and 2026 Mid-Atlantic Concert Band Festivals, and the 2026 North East Band and Orchestra Festival. In 2025, Sharrock was named Fairfax County Public Schools Outstanding Secondary Teacher of the Year.
Sharrock earned degrees in Music Education and Composition from George Mason University, where he studied composition with Michael Nickens, Robert Gillam, Mark Camphouse, and Ivan Trevino. His music has been performed nationwide, including at the Virginia Music Educators Association Conference, Charlotte New Music Festival, Composing for Percussion Seminar, and Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival and in 2025, he was selected for Composing in the Wilderness in Alaska’s Denali National Park.
