Collection: Leigha Turner
Leigha Turner is a saxophonist, educator, and composer from Greenville, South Carolina, whose goal is to share the joy and power of music with others. She has recently composed a new saxophone sonata, Contours, an expressive exploration of the instrument driven by her passion for its unique sound.
Leigha studied saxophone at the University of Georgia with Connie Frigo, performing in the university’s Wind Ensemble and premiering works by composers such as John Mackey. Her undergraduate career was marked by artistic growth, competitive scholarships, and participation in master classes with leading artists including Chien-Kwan Lin of the Eastman School of Music.
In addition to her classical training, Leigha is an active arranger and composer in the marching arts. Her original works have been presented at South Carolina Band Directors Association (SCBDA) state-level competitions, and she has served as a woodwind instructor for marching programs across South Carolina and Georgia.
Leigha is an experienced educator who has taught music across all grade levels and maintained a private studio. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in music at Stephen F. Austin State University.
